You can compose and edit rosters directly in Forces for many game systems — see the supported game systems page for details.

For game systems Forces doesn't compose yet, we recommend New Recruit, a fast and free roster builder that runs in any web browser, or ListForge, a native app for mobile and desktop.

Yes, basic functionality for the latest edition of Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40k is completely free. Most power user features, and support for niche game systems is locked behind a yearly subscription.

Yes. Sign in to your Forces account and your rosters sync across every device you use. Any synced roster can then be published, which mints a public link you can paste anywhere — a Discord thread, a forum post, or a tournament submission.

Anyone holding that link can open the roster right in their browser. They don’t need the app, an account, or a sign-in, and they see the full list: units, datasheets and weapon profiles, rendered by the same viewer Forces itself uses.

Publishing is always your call. Unpublish a roster and the link stops working immediately; deleting a published roster revokes its link too.

Copy your list out of Games Workshop’s official app as text and Forces rebuilds it as a real, editable roster — no file export required. The same flow works for the official Age of Sigmar app, NewRecruit and ListForge.

1. In the official Warhammer 40,000 app, open your army list and copy it as text using the app’s share option.
2. Open Forces and start an import:
   • iPhone, iPad & Android — tap the import button above your roster list, then choose From Text.
   • macOS & Windows — click Import… on the welcome screen.
3. Paste the list into the Paste export box. Forces works out which app it came from and shows you the detected format.
4. Choose the roster’s game system and faction catalogue, then press Import.
5. Forces tells you how many units it matched and names any it couldn’t. Press Continue to Editor to save the roster and fill in the rest.

Text import is in beta. It matches unit names against the game system’s installed catalogue, so make sure that game system is downloaded first — anything it can’t match is listed for you to add by hand rather than dropped silently. If a list imports badly, we’d love to see it on Discord.
