Forces v2026.5.1 is a quality-of-life release with something for everyone — whether you're building your army on mobile, desktop, or picking a fork of your favourite community repository.
All Platforms
Pick Your Repository Fork
Forces now lets you choose from popular community forks of your game's data repository. Prefer ListForge's Warhammer 40,000 catalogue? You can now point Forces at whichever fork suits you, without losing access to the upstream source. Head to Settings → Repositories to explore what's available.
Smarter Validation
Units like Einhyr Hearthguard with complex default builds were triggering false "Maximum 0" warnings in the Leagues of Votann army list. The issue: the engine was checking constraint values against top-level modifiers only, missing the conditional modifier groups baked into the catalogue itself. The fix resolves constraint values through the full modifier chain — no more phantom warnings on valid unit configurations.
Improved Upgrade Attachments
"Hover drone"-style upgrades that can attach to either a single-model character or a multi-model unit now correctly modify the host's profile in either configuration. This covers roughly 290 modifiers across 20 Warhammer 40,000 10th edition catalogues, including Space Marines, World Eaters, Chaos Space Marines, T'au Empire, and Death Guard.
Desktop
Themed Unit Name Generator
Forces Pro on desktop now includes a themed name generator accessible from the unit row ⋮ menu, the Play view, and the unit-detail header menu. Pick from a set of faction-appropriate names to give your units some personality — useful for narrative play, crusade campaigns, or just keeping your units straight across a large roster.
iOS
- Fixed an interface lock-up that could occur after creating rosters on some newer devices
Android
- Edge-to-edge rendering on Android 15+: the Add Unit and Edit Selection bottom sheets now paint behind the gesture navigation inset instead of leaving a grey strip at the bottom of the screen
Bug Fixes
- False "Maximum 0" validation warnings on default unit builds (Einhyr Hearthguard's EtaCarn plasma gun and Concussion gauntlet) resolved
- Hover Drone-style upgrades correctly modify host profiles whether attached to a character or a unit
